(Laurus nobilis)

Bay is an all season green plant which leaves are very rich of essential oil. The garland’s bay of leaves were utilized to crown emperors and poets and the plant was very appreciated for the good perfume and for the peace given to the forest.

In the past the Etruscan used the leaves of the bay to season the wild animals and to extract a butter with a strong aroma. The bay is stimulating for the appetite and influence positively on the menstruation period.

The bay can be used even for bruise pain and rheumatism. In cookery the bay it is ideal to flavour roasts, stews, sauces, cereal’s soups because it has the property to help the digestion.
